How we create and review content
Our content is designed to help families organize questions and decisions. It does not replace qualified medical, occupational therapy, construction, legal, or financial advice.
Source handling
Official rules, funding benefits, eligibility criteria, deadlines, and legal requirements must be tied to source URLs, last reviewed dates, last updated dates, program status, and notes in the CMS data files.
Unverified records
State, city, and directory records should not be published until official source links, review dates, and verification notes are complete.
Cost ranges: how we build them
Cost ranges are educational planning estimates, not quotes. Each range is assembled from three inputs: published contractor and remodeling pricing guides, manufacturer list prices for the products involved, and, for program-related figures, the official program documentation itself. Where regional labor differences are large, we widen the range rather than publish a false single number. Ranges carry the last reviewed date of their page and are rechecked on a quarterly cycle; when we cannot verify a figure, we remove it rather than let it age silently.
Authorship and review
Pages display who wrote and, where applicable, who reviewed them, along with the date of the last review. Author and reviewer identities in bylines are real people; we do not publish invented personas. Reader-facing claims about accessibility standards, funding programs, and safety data link to the primary source at the bottom of the page so anyone can verify them.
How we use software and AI tools
We use software, including AI writing tools, to help draft, structure, and check content. Every published page is reviewed by a person responsible for this site before and after publication, and every factual claim about standards, programs, or safety data is expected to trace to the primary sources listed on the page. Errors that slip through are corrected under the corrections policy below.
Corrections
Send corrections or source updates to [email protected]. Substantive corrections update the page and its last reviewed date.
